Police seize 'ganja' worth Rs 45 lakh; 2 held

Nashik, June 20 (UNI) Police have seized 'ganja' worth Rs 45 lakh and taken into custody two persons in this connection from the Bhadrakali area of Dindori tehsil in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team headed by SP (rural) Rajvardhan conducted raid at - Mohammed Razzak Pathan's house in Indori village of Dindori at arund 0500 hrs yesterday.

During the raid, the team seized 2,476 kg of the contraband packed in 117 gunny bags.

Later, police also raided Pathan's another residence in Bhadrakali area and recovered 1,000 kg of the drug lying in 35 bags.

Also, two more hutments in Pachvati and Bagadi area were raided where some more quantity of 'ganja' was seized.

A case has been registered against - Pathan and his wife Mehru - under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
