PM to send representative for talks with TN CM on Lankan issue

Chennai, June 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will depute a representative to hold discussions with DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on the Sri Lankan issue.

This was conveyed to Mr Karunandihi when he spoke to the Prime Minister over phone this morning, an official release here said.

During the conversation, Dr Singh said he had read the contents of the resolution passed at the DMK-led DPA meeting on the Sri Lankan crisis and promised to take steps to restore peace in the island nation.
