NGO Assocation to stage mass dharnas tomorrow
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 20 (UNI) The Kerala Non-Gazetted Officers' (NGO) Association will stage a mass dharnas in all the district head quarters and State Secretariat tomorrow to press its demands and to protest against large scale transfer of its members by the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government.
The Government is transferring Association members violating all norms yielding to the pressure of the Pro-Left service organisaions, Association president R Rajan Kurikkal told a news conference here today.
If the government did not cancel the transfers, which had badly affected education of their children and family members, the Association would go for direct action, he warned.
Even though the Association leaders had urged Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan to cancel the transferrs, no favourable action had come from him so far, he alleged.
Mr Kurikkal also demanded the government rectify the anomalies in the pay revision. Though the association had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this regard, no favourable reply had been received from him.
Distribution of pending DA and checking of price-rise were the other demands.
