NDA government fails on all fronts : Paswan

Patna, Jun 20 (UNI) Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan alleged that the NDA government in Bihar had failed on all fronts and announced that his party would launch statewide agitation from July 20 to highlight its failures among the masses.

Addressing the mediapersons here, Mr Paswan said his party had given six-month time to the NDA government to prove its worth but it had failed miserably in fulfiling its pre-poll promises.

He said the Nitish government had proved itself only as "government of announcements", adding people were fast losing their patience over continued political gimmicks of the present dispensation.

When asked about the political situation of Uttar Pradesh, he said his party was ready to form a front under the leadership of the former prime Minister V P Singh barring BSP, BJP and SP.

He exuded that proposed front if came into shape, would be able to strongly challenge the misgovernance of Mulayam Singh Yadav government.

He said he was ready to accommodate all like-minded parties in the proposed front to effectively challenge Mulayam Singh in coming assembly elections in UP.He made it clear that he would like to include the Congress in the front.

On recent hike in price of petro products, Mr Paswan said the decision was taken under the compulsion and the government had no option but to raise the prices of petrol and diesels.

He said compulsion to increase the petro prices was so high that government could not accommodate the views of Left parties on the issue on which the UPA government was surviving.

As a Union Minister he fully supported the decision of the government on increase in prices of petro products, he added.

He announced that National Institute of Pharmaceutical and Economic Research(NIPER) would be established in Hajipur.
