Narayanan to be PM's special envoy for talks with TN CM
Chennai, June 20 (UNI) National Security Advisor M K Narayanan will be Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Special Envoy to hold discussions with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on the Sri Lankan issue.
Speaking to newspersons at Raj Bhawan here after the swearing-in of Mr S S Barnala as the Tamil Nadu Governor for a fresh term of five years. Mr Karunanidhi said details about Mr Narayanan's arrival were yet to be worked out.
Earlier, Mr Karunanidhi, in a statement here had said the Prime Minister had assured him that he would take steps to restore peace in Sri Lanka during their telephonic conversation. Mr Karunanidhi had briefed him about the resolution adopted on the issue at a meeting of DMK and its allies.
