Monsoon was vigorous over south interior Karnataka

Bangalore, June 20 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather office here at 0830hrs today.

Monsoon was vigorous over South Interior Karnataka, Rainfall occurred at most places over North Interior Karnataka and at many places over Coastal Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Yelahanka 11, Gowribidanur, Madhugiri 9 each, Biligi, Deodurg, Thondebhavi, Gubbi 8 each, Dharwad, Badami, Sindagi K.R.Pet, Bangalore City, Hosadurga 7 each.

Other Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Panambur, Pandavapura, Gudibande, Mulbagal, Srinivasapura, Hiriyur, Sira, Turuvekere, Tumkur 6 each, Bhatkal, Tavaregere, Chincholi, Haveri, Kadur, Ramanagara, Koratagere, Pavgada 5 each.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Outlook for subsequent two days: Increase in rainfall is expected over the State.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night.
