Minister stresses on speedy implementation of pending schemes

Ranchi, Jun 20 (UNI) Jharkhand water resources and food supply minister Kamlesh Singh today held a review meeting on minor and major irrigation and asked senior officials to take measures for speedy implementation of pending schemes.

Mr Singh made no bones to express his annoyance when he noticed that several officers were absent and warned of taking stern action against them.

Among various matters that emerged during the review meeting, the minister stressed the need of taking necessary means including filling up vacancies in order to sort out the problem of the displaced people.

He instructed the chief engineer to finish Sonua and Surangi reservoir scheme by next year and the Budhai reservior scheme as soon as possible.

Besides, Mr Singh asked the officials to prepare a detailed list of Scheduled Cast and Scheduled Tribes working on various schemes of the department.
