Maoists abduct NCL officials
Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, June 20 (UNI) Nine armed Maoists abducted Nagarjuna Cement Limited (NCL) Chief General Manager D V Ramaraju and Deputy Manager Sahik Galib from a construction site at Pinapaka Village in Krishna District yesterday evening.
Police sources here told UNI this morning, the Maoists came to the site and told the security guard they wanted to talk to the CGM.
Later, they whisked him away along with Ghalib in a Tata Sumo after firing in the air.
Meanwhile, Chakrapani, a mediator at the talks held between Maoists and the government two years back, assured the relatives of the officials about their safety and said both of had been taken to Hyderabad.
The abductors had not put forth any demands before the government so far.
Ghalib was once abducted by Maoists in Nalgonda District and later freed.
