Local bodies poll process declared invalid

Hyderabad, June 20 (UNI) In what could be a major setback to the state government's efforts for devolution of powers, the Andhra Pradesh High Court today quashed the notification issued by the State Election Commissioner on June 10, proposing to hold elections to the Panchayat Raj Bodies.

The verdict virtually halts the electoral process already underway in the state.
