Left to launch joint struggle in Punjab from June 30
Jalandhar, June 19 (UNI) Five Leftist parties have decided to launch a joint struggle in Punjab from June 30 in protest against steep price rise, unemployment and ''anti people policies'' of the Centre and the Punjab Government.
According to a joint statement issued here yesterday, this campaign will begin with a joint convention of state units of the Communist Party of India(CPI), Communist Party Marxist Punjab(Pasla), All India Forward Bloc, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and the Communist Party of India Marxist(ML) Liberation, scheduled to be held in Ludhiana on June 30.
These parties have strongly opposed pro-rich ''imperialistic'' policies of the Centre and the state government which made difficult life of farmers, labourers and poor sections.
The parties also opposed the government's move of opening foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail marketing and agriculture.
