Jaya's plea to Centre on Sri Lankan issue
Chennai, June 20: AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today requested the Centre to take all steps to ensure peace in the strife-torn Sri Lanka.
In a release here, she said innocent civilians were caught in the face-off between the island nation's armed forces and the rebel LTTE fighters.
This caused immense hardship to the civilians forcing them to flee to Tamil Nadu as refugees, she said and sought the Centre's intervention in the issue.
