Govt retains removal of Disqualification Bill

Ranchi, Jun 20 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today decided to retain the Jharkhand Bidhan Sabha removal of Disqualification Bill, 2006, that was returned by governor Syed Sibtey Rizvi for reconsideration.

The Bill pertained to ongoing controversy over the office of profit issue.

The decision to introduce the Bill in the Assembly sans any change was taken a Cabinet meeting this afternoon here.

Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swarup said unanimity prevailed in sending the same Bill to the Assembly.

The Governor did not give his assent to the Bill and returned it to the government for reconsideration.
