Four Chandigarh Academy boys in U-18 hockey camp

Chandigarh, Jun 20 (UNI) The Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) has invited four players of UT Administration-run Chandigarh Hockey Academy for the second national coaching camp for boys Under-18 which begins tomorrow in New Delhi and continue till July 14.

Joint Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration JPS Sidhu said that the trainees were directed to report to coach JS Pathiana on June 20. The Chandigarh boys left for Delhi this afternoon.

The coaching camp has been arranged to train the Indian players for the Asia Junior Cup for 18, scheduled from July 23 to 30 in Mumbai.

The Chandigarh boys invited to join the probables are drag-flicker and centre-half Simrandeep Singh, outside right Dharamvir Singh, fullback Rupinder Pal Singh and goalkeeper Harjit Singh.

In the first camp held in Mumbai from May 18 to June 10, five players of the CH Academy attended the camp. While right half Sandeep Singh has been dropped, Simrandeep Singh, Dharamvir Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh and Harjit Singh have been retained for the second camp.

Chandigarh coach Jasbir Singh Bajwa was confident that all the four players of CHA would find their names in the Indian squad. The CHA has been given good results since it came into existence in 2002.
