Four arrested for murder of CITU workers in Chamba, claims police
Chamba, Jun 20 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police today claimed to have arrested four people for involvement in the murder of three CITU workers on the night of June 12 after conducting raids at their hideouts at Pathankot, Moga, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur in Punjab.
The four arrested have been named as Gurcharan alias Shammi, Balwinder alias Modi, Harjinder Singh alias Gill and Charanjeet Singh, DIG (Kangra range) P L Thakur said in a release here.
He said another person, identified as Gurnam Singh, has also been detained for interrogation.
Claiming that the arrests of these people would help the police in solving the murder of three CITU workers who were allegedly beaten by iron rods before being thrown in Satluj River, he said investigations were on and more arrests were likely in future.
Mr Thakur said the remaining assassins were also likley to be arrested soon.
