Srinagar, June 20 (UNI) The CBI today arrested former Jammu and Kashmir Ministers Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Raman Mattoo in connection with the sex racket case.

CBI sources said Mir, a senior state Congress leader and a former Minister of State for Roads and Buildings, was arrested from the Jammu and Kashmir House at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi this morning.

Mattoo, a senior Peoples Democratic Forum (PDF) leader and a former Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, was arrested from his residence at Gupkar here also this morning, they added.

Both are sitting legislators and had been ministers in the previous PDP-led coalition government which handed over power to the Congress on November two last year.

While Mir is an MLA from Dooru in south Kashmir, Mattoo is the legislator from Habba Kadal constituency in Srinagar.

The sources said Mir will be brought here this afternoon.

Both the former ministers would be questioned about their alleged involvement in the flesh trade scandal which had rocked the Valley in the recent past, they added.

The sources said both Mir and Mattoo would also be subjected to a Test Identification Parade (TIP) before a minor girl who had alleged that the two had raped her.

With this the total number of people arrested in connection with the sex racket case has gone up to 13. The CBI had earlier arrested eleven people.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court is hearing the sex racket case today.

The CBI last evening announced a reward of Rs two lakh to anyone giving information on absconding former Jammu and Kashmir Additional Advocate General Anil Sethi, wanted for his alleged involvement in the sex scandal.
