Engineer and architect sent to jail

Patna, June 20 (UNI) Special CBI judge of Patna Jawahar Prasad Ratnesh today remanded a telecom engineer and an architect to judicial custody in two separate cases of corruption.

During the day, a former divisional engineer of telecom department Manoranjan Prasad Singh surrendered before the designated court with a prayer of bail which was refused. The judge sent the accused engineer in jail till July 4.

According to the charges Mr Singh had amassed property valued over Rs 31.72 lakhs disproportionate to all his known sources of income during 1992 to 2002.

Meanwhile, the judge rejected the regular bail plea of an architect cum property valuer Raman Kumar on his surrender in court.

The judge sent him to jail till June 27.

According to the case' loans were issued to several fake people from Masaurhi branch of Bank of India causing losses over Rs 33 lakhs to the bank in 1996.
