New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) The BJP today said no allegations of the misuse of Housing and Urban Development Corporation infrastructure had been proved against former Union Urban Development Minister Anant Kumar by the Central Vigilance Commission and dismissed the Congress' demand to initiate a probe into the issue.

BJP Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said the Congress had used this allegation as a tool during the last general elections with former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Chief B Janardhana Poojari going hammer and tongs about it.

He said a PIL is pending before the Supreme Court and it would be absurd on the part of the Congress to seek a probe when its members were facing much graver charges like defreezing of London bank accounts of Ottavio Quattrocchi, receiving kickbacks in the UN oil-for -food programme and Submarine deals. ''We don't want to comment on the merits of the cases as they are sub judice,'' he remarked.

Party sources said an Urban Development Minister using the HUDCO staff facility was not a new phenomenon. It was happening in the past and is continuing even today. ''If the government is to withdraw this facility, the party has no objections,'' a senior leader said.
