CMO denies allegations of underground alliance

Kohima, June 20 (UNI) The Chief Minister's Office in Nagaland today denied the allegations levelled by an underground organisation that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had paid Rs 38 crore to NSCN-IM and that underground cadres travel in Chief Minister's escort vehicle.

A release issued by the Press Secretary of Chief Minister here today said the allegations were baseless and made with a motive to create confusion and vitiate the present atmosphere in the state.

Denying the allegations, the Chief Minister appealed to all sections of Naga society to work towards peace and understanding to avoid confusion and divisions.

Asserting that the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government was clear in its policies of 'equi-closeness', the release reiterated the government will leave no stone unturned in its endeavour to facilitate the peace process and to work towards achieving an honourable settlement acceptable to the people.
