CII in Commonwealth games task force

New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said that Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) would be included in the task force on Commonwealth Games.

The task force is being headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of NCT.

Emphasising on the need of public-private-partnership to make the upcoming Commonwealth Games a success, Ms Dikshit stated that they would require 80-100 thousand volunteers and this could be achieved only through partnership.

She said that it was equally important to understand the kind of support industry could provide for the security systems, food supplies, volunteer kits and display devices for the upcoming games.

Ms Dikshit also informed that the Delhi Master Plan 2020 would be rolled out soon.

While interacting here with the CII delegation led by Chairman Adesh Gupta and Deputy Chairman Deep Kapuria, Ms Dikshit stressed on adopting fast track reforms to gear up the pace of economic growth and reap profits through joint initiatives.

CII Chairman Mr Gupta highlighted the thrust areas for 2006-07, which included improving the infrastructure of the region through public-private-partnership, increasing the levels of investment, creating a common economic zone, initiating policy reforms - labour, power, taxation to facilitate economic empowerment of rural areas and skill development for underprivileged youth.
