ANC seized worth Rs 1.75 crore Narcotic drugs

Mumbai, June 20 (UNI) In a joint operation, Bhusawal Bazarpeth police station and the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) seized 3.540 kg Brown Sugar, 2.765 kg Charas, 470 gms Ganja, 30 gm Afim and 400gm Bhang worth Rs 1.75 crore on Saturday last, arresting ten persons in this connection.

Addressing mediapersons here yesterday, Director General of Police P S Pasricha said a joint operation of Bhusawal police in Jalgaon district and ANC had seized Narcotic drugs worth Rs 1.75 crore and arrested ten persons.

Elaborating it, Dr Pasricha said on June 11, Bhusawal police had conducted raid at Jam Mohalla, Bhusawal and arrested Nasir Ahmed Gulam Gaus (41), Shaikh Shahauddin Shaikh Mohiddin (38) and Shaikh Akil Shaikh Rashid (23) and recovered Brown sugar weighing 16.500 gms.

During the interrogation, it was revealed that they were indulging in sale of Narcotic in Jalgaon. They have also revealed the name of five persons: Subhash Narayan Koli (33), Jithendra Narayan Koli (25), Natthu Totaram Thakre (41), Ms Jaubai Narayabn Koli (55) and Ms Kesarbai Totaram Thakre (40) and seized narcotics worth Rs 1.2 lakh.

During interrogation of all above accused persons, it transpired that they brought the narcotics from one Jithedra Thakur resident of Madhya Pradesh. With the help of Madhya Pradesh police, Jithedra Koshorsingh Thakur and his father Kishorsingh Ramsingh Thakur were arrested and narcotics drugs total worth Rs 1.75 crore were seized from them, he added.

The accused persons were produced before NDPS special court, Khandwa, who remanded them to police custody for 14 days.
