AI's chief on IATA's governing body
New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) Chairman and managing director of Air India Vasudevan Thulasidas has been elected to the board of governors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The IATA's governing body undertakes executive functions on behalf of member airlines, reviews and approves major policies (industry, administrative and financial), establishes governance structures and processes, directs strategy as required, and takes action in response to specific requests from members as it deems appropriate.
The IATA has over 260 airlines as members. It will be headed this year by Mr Chew Choon Seng, chief executive officer of Singapore Airlines.
