1 killed, 12 injured in road mishap
Ambala, June 20 (UNI) One person was killed and over a dozen, including three women, were injured in a road accident near Mohra village on the National Highway Number one early today.
The incident occurred when a car hit a tractor trailer carrying brick kiln labourers and their families, who were on way to their native village in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. They were coming from their work place in Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab.
One labourer Veer Sein died on the spot while over a dozen people, including three women, were injured.
All the injured, including the car driver, were rushed to the civil hospital. They were identified as Harinder, Des Raj, Chameli, Kedar, Dinesh, Haja, Kalo, Subhash and Babita.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives after post mortem.
Police registered a case against the car driver who was reportedly drunk at the time of the accident.
