Xenitis computer manufacturing unit declared SEZ
New Delhi, Jun 19: The Xenitis Group's computer manufacturing plant at Sugandha in Hooghly in West Bengal, has been declared a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) by the government, thereby attracting other IT hardware manufacturing giants to invest in the state.
This facility is the only computer hardware and component manufacturing factory in the Indian sub-continent, and is the first in the IT hardware segment to get the status of a SEZ.
Once fully operational, the factory will provide employment opportunities to over 2000 people.
The Xenitis Group of Companies reported a turnover of Rs 530 crore for the financial year 2005-06.
Xenitis Infotech Pvt Ltd manufacture the Aamar PC brand of personal computers.
