Weak monsoon current for two more days in AP

Hyderabad, June 19 (UNI) The revival of the South West Monsoon in Andhra Pradesh, where rainfall activity has been less since June 8, may take another two to three days.

''Signals are favourable for revival of the monsoon though the monsoon current is still weak now,'' Hyderabad Meterological Office Director Satya Kumar told UNI here today.

Isolated rain/thundershowers were likely to occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema. One or two spells of rain /thundershowers were likely in parts of the state capital, he said.

Isolated rain occurred over coastal Andhra as also Telangana and Rayalaseema. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were Arogyavaram, Owk 5 each, Medchal 4, Narsipatnam 3, Dhone 2 and Khammam, Visakhapatnam, Araku Valley, Cumbum, Koilkuntla, Mandasa, Palasa and Tekkali, Nirmal, Proddatur, Punganur, Yellandu one each.
