War room leak case back with CBI
Hyderabad, Jun 19 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) has sent a detailed report to CBI in the War Room Leak case.
Two '256 k pen drives' which were seized during the investigation were sent to APFSL in April. A detailed report given by APFSL was collected by the CBI officials last week.
The APFSL took almost two months to retrieve the data. The investigating authorities now have to compile the entire data and conclude from which computer it was copied.
According to sources, the data stored in the pen drives was in bits and pieces and in coded language. It related to Border Security Force, various operations of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force in the last few years (between 2000 and 2004), strength of their security personnel and some details about various weapons like Rocket Launchers.
However, police sources said the pen drives did not contain details about the 13,000-crore Scorpene submarine deal.
The CBI has to also ascertain whether the data reached the wrong hands and if it did, what harm it could do to the country.
