TWO naxals killed

Rajnandgaon(CG), June 19 (UNI) Two naxals were believed to have been killed and one injured in an encounter today at Chhuria area, about 85 km from the district headquarters, police said.

A police patrol team was passing through the forests of Gwaldand and Pandrapani when naxals opened fire.

Police seized two 12-bore rifles, detonator and other materials from the spot.

Chichola Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjeev Mishra, who was leading the patrol team, told UNI that three naxals were seen being carried away by their friends. However, they could not be arrested due to heavy firing and dense forests.
