Two arrested under child marriage prevention act

New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested two persons from East Delhi, under the Child Marriage Prevention Act, in a case relating to the marriage of a ten year-old girl.

The North east District police arrested 33-year-old Mohammed Sultan from the Welcome police station area on the charge of marrying a ten-year-old minor.

The mother of the girl, Akhtari was also arrested by the police.

The police came to know about the marriage after Akhtari's elder daughter Umera, complained to the police.

Both Mohammed Sultan and Akhtari were arrested under Section 506 of the Child Marriage Prevention Act.
