Taiwan varsity invites five SVU students for study programme

Tirupati, Jun 19 (UNI) Five students from Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) have been invited by the National Central University (NCU), Taiwan, to participate in a four week study programme on atmospheric radar at Jhongle, to be held from January 8 to February 2, 2007.

This was for the first time that a foreign varsity had invited the students of SVU for a study programme, SVU vice-chancellor S Jayarama Reddy said in a release here today.

He said the Taiwan University had shown interest to develop sustained collaboration with SVU due to the efforts of Dr K Krishna Reddy of the Physics department.

The foreign university proposes to recognise a joint international school on atmospheric radars in SVU in November next year with the participation of 20 students and faculty members from abroad and 50 from India, the release added.
