Allahabad, June 19 (UNI) Maa Ganga Pradushan Mukti Abhiyan Samiti president Swami Hari Chaitnya Brahmchari has expressed concern over the recent statement of Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Md Azam Khan on the preparations and 'Shahi Snan' during the forthcoming Ardh Kumbh mela beginning here next year.

The Swami, in a statement, said the minister has failed to judge the importance of sacrifice and devotion of saints and instead boasted of 'star culture' at Ardh Kumbh.

He said the saints and devotees come here during the Magh Mela, Ardh Kumbh and Maha Kumbh for Kalpvas and salvation and not to avail themselves of five star facilities.

The Swami said instead of talking of five star facilities and permanent construction on the banks of the river Ganga, the minister should use the resource to provide pure water in it which has almost disappeared.
