Randhawa slips to 150, Jeev overtakes Shiv Kapur in golf rankings

New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) Despite slipping 19 places, Jyoti Randhawa remains the highest ranked Indian player at 150 while Jeev Milkha Singh, thanks to his tied 59th finish in the US Open, overtook Shiv Kapur and is placed 165th in the latest Official World Golf Rankiungs issued today.

Randhawa, who qualified for the US Open but could not make the cut at the Winged Foot Golf Club, slipped 19 places to 150 with 1.04 average points and thus he lost the cushion he had over his compatriots.

Arjun Atwal (.96), off-colour so far this reason, slipped a rung to 162 while Jeev Milkha Singh (.94) overtook 168 placed Shiv Kapur (.93) to finish the week at 165.

Geoff Ogilvy's one-shot triumph at the US Open saw him moving into the World Top 10 in eighth position, an improvement of nine places -- according to information received here.

Phil Mickelson may have failed in his bid for a third straight Major title at Winged Foot but the American, who finished tied second, has closed the gap on Tiger Woods at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings to 5.74 average points.
