Non-ferrous metals fall on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, June 19 (UNI) Metal prices in non-ferrous section fell on poor industrial demand, traders at the metal exchange today said.

Ferrous section remained steady on moderate demand.

In non-ferrous section, the rates of copper wire bars declined by Rs 500 per quintal while that of aluminium ingot and lead ingots eased by Rs 200 each per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Tin slab rates came down by Rs five per kg on thin buying support while that of nickel cathode rose by Rs 10 on reduced stock supply.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 32,500, copper utensils - Rs 26,000, brass utensils - Rs 18,000, brass cuttings - Rs 22,000, aluminium utensils - Rs 10,000.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 36,300, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,100, zinc slab - Rs 16,500, lead ingots - Rs 6,100, tin slab - Rs 450 (per kg), nickel cathode - Rs 1,050 (per kg).
