NDA staging dharna to 'shield its failure': Congress
Patna, June 19 (UNI) Bihar Congress today alleged that dharna organised by the NDA to express its ire against the UPA government for the price hike of essential commodities was an attempt to ''shield its own failures''.
Chief spokesperson of state Congress Kripa Nath Pathak said here that NDA government in Bihar had failed to fulfill its pre-poll promises on the issues of law and order, education, electricity and providing drinking water to the people. He said that NDA was staging dharna to divert the attention of the people from its own ''failures''.
'' Recent spurt in prices of essential commodities was the result of black marketing and hoarding by the big traders of the state, who were being patronised by the NDA government,'' Mr Pathak said.
Refuting the charges levelled by the NDA on rising incidents of terrorist activities across the nation, Mr Pathak said that terrorist attack on Parliament and Akshardham temple in Gujarat had taken place during the tenure of NDA government at the Centre. ''All centres of worships of different religions were safe under UPA government and communal harmony is maintained,'' he added.
