MCX index closes 28.41 pts down at 2112.43

Mumbai, June 19 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 2,618.18 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2112.43 down by 28.41 points (-1.34 per cent). The total trades registered were 47,286.

The MCX metal index closed at 2172.32 down by 53.32 points (-2.45 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2606.21 down by 20.42 points (0.78 per cent), and MCX agri index closed at 1558.74 down by 11.50 (-0.74 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 1,944.59 crore, including various MCX gold at Rs 1,315.32 crore and MCX silver at Rs 629.27 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 27,855. The open interest for gold was 7,330 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 2,31,910 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 345.54 crore with 1,07,33,000 kg, while MCX aluminium recorded a turnover of Rs 4.50 crore with 186 trades and MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 59.86 crore with 824 trades.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 30.68 crore with open interest of 2,45,300 BBL.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 65.37 crore with 2,721 trades and mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 48.72 crore with 2,508 trades while chana registered a turnover of Rs 13.36 crore with 454 trades.

MCX gold Aug-06 closed at Rs 8,570 down by Rs 158 (-1.84 per cent), Oct closed at Rs 8,709 down by Rs 170 (-1.95 per cent) and Dec closed at Rs 8,898 down by Rs 57 (-0.64 per cent).

MCX silver July-06 closed at Rs 15,211 down by Rs 391 (-2.57 per cent), Sept closed at Rs 15,623 down by Rs 412 (-2.64 per cent) and Dec closed at Rs 16,029 down by Rs 260 (-1.62 per cent).
