Maoist torch bus, van in AP
Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, June 19 (UNI) A fifteen-member group of CPI (Maoist) naxals today burnt a mini-bus and a van owned by the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Coporation (RTC) at China Arutla Village of Prakasam district.
Police said the Maoists, including two women, asked the passengers to alight from the bus, proceeding to Markapur from Srisailam and burnt the vehicle after dousing it with diesel.
They also broke the window panes of the two RTC buses proceeding towards Atmakur from Srisailam.
The incidents were to protest the 'fake' encounter in which the Maoist State Committee Member Ravi was killed recently, they added.
