Mahila Cong chief Rita discharged from hospital

Lucknow, June 19 (UNI) Mahila Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi, who was seriously injured in a road accident on Friday, was discharged from a private hospital here today .

Congress sources said Ms Joshi would stay in the Uttar Pradesh capital for a week for treatment.

The Mahila Congress chief and two others -- Devraj and Dayanand -- were coming to Lucknow from Ambedkarnagar, when their private vehicle crashed against a truck in Masauli area of Barabanki district on Faizabad-Lucknow highway at 1430 hrs on June 16.

She had sustained multiple fracture in her right hand and a deep gash on the upper side of the left eye.

The three were rushed to a private hospital in New Hyderabad area of the Uttar Pradesh capital. Later, an operation was performed on her hand and given 30 stitches on forehead.

Ms Joshi is the daughter of former UP chief minister late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna.
