Lifer to ten in triple murder case

Davangere, Karnataka, June 19 (UNI) A Fast Track Court today convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment ten people in connection with the murder of three persons.

FTC Judge R Chandrasekhar, while convicting the ten people, also acquitted six others on the ground that there was not enough evidence. Besides, he imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 each on all the convicted.

The prosecution case was that the accused had attacked Marappa, Jagadeesh and Basavaraj at Siddavanahalli village with lethal weapons on October three, 2004, due to previous enmity over control of a cooperative society.

Jagalur police had registered a case and submitted charge sheet before the court.

The convicted were Ramachandrappa (45), Shivanna (35), Basavaraj (42), Hanumanthappa (45), Channabasappa (48), Appanna (50), Murthappa (24), Lakshman (19), Rudrappa (22) and Krishnaswamy (23).
