IT Dept. opens 8 'Help Centres' in Kerala

Kochi, Jun 19 (UNI) The Income Tax department has opened 'Help Centres' at eight places in Kerala to assist tax payers in filling up tax returns, challan for tax payment and applications for permanent account numbers (PAN).

The centres have been opened at Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kottayam, Alleppey, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.

They will function from 1400 hrs. to 1800 hrs on all working days. The centres are provided with computers with internet connection and exclusive telephone lines to attend to the specific or general requirements of the tax payers.

These will be manned by competent officers and staff who will attend to various queries from the tax payers, an official release said here today.
