Heavy rains lash capital

New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) Heavy rains lashed the capital tonight, bringing about certain coolness in the weather.

The rains, which hit the capital at around 2100 hrs, lowered the mercury by several degrees, the weatherman said.

The capital saw the build up of a heavily overcast sky towards late evening, accompanied by a heavy squall. This was soon followed by a light shower which later turned into a heavy downpour.

The weatherman has forecast more showers late tonight and tomorrow evening.
