Frei puts Swiss 1-0 up on Togo at halftime

DORTMUND, June 19 (Reuters) A goal from Alex Frei gave Switzerland a 1-0 lead over Togo at halftime of their World Cup Group G game today.

The unmarked striker turned the ball into the net from close range following a pass from midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta in the 16th minute.

Despite going behind, Togo were a constant threat on the attack and could have had a penalty.

Their most dangerous player, Emmanuel Adebayor, had strong appeals waved away when he appeared to be tripped inside the box by Patrick Mueller.
