Freedom fighter Ratnakala S Menon passes away
Kochi, Jun 19 (UNI) Veteran Congress leader and freedom fighter Ratnakala S Menon, who took part in the 'Quit India' movement, died at her residence here this morning.
She was 85 and is survived by two daughters and a son.
The cremation took place in the afternoon, local Congress leaders said.
A three-time Ernakulam municipal councillor, Mrs Ratnakala had served as the Ernakulam District Mahila Congress chief for some years and was also associated with the Red Cross.
She had participated in the Quit India movement as a college student.
