Four killed in Siwan

Siwan, Bihar, Jun 19 (UNI) Altogether four people, including a home Guard Jawan, were killed in a shoot-out and subsequent encounter between the police and criminals in Siwan today.

Police superintendent Sunil Kumar said here that a group of armed criminals opened fire at the home guard jawan Ram Prasad and Nag Narain, an employee of a leading businessman, when they were on way to deposit Rs 1.20 lakhs in a bank at hospital road under Mufassil police station area. Mr Prasad and Mr Narayan both died on the spot. The criminals later decamped with the amount they had looted from the deceased.

Mr Kumar said after receiving the information of the shoot out the police team chased the criminals. Later an encounter took place between the police and the criminals in which two criminals were killed. Other anti-socials managed to escape from the spot, he added.
