Delta to connect Mumbai with NY non-stop

New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) Delta Air Lines is set to become the only global carrier to operate direct non-stop service between Mumbai and New York.

The new non-stop flight between the two cities from November 1 continues its push to strengthen its presence as New York City's leading international airline, including operating more service across the Atlantic than any other carrier to New York City.

Delta's service will be operated using the 268-seat Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with 50 business class and 218 economy class seats.

Airline's chief operating officer Jim Whitehurst said the new flight will offer added convenience and travel options to passengers from Mumbai with onward connections to leading business and leisure destinations including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Cincinnati and Tampa.

Delta plans to operate non-stop service between the United States and 12 destinations across Asia, Europe and Africa by this winter which are currently not served non-stop by any other US airline.

Delta offers flights to 460 destinations in 97 countries on Delta, Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers and its worldwide partners.
