CPI(ML) calls road blockade on June 26
Ranchi, Jun 19 : After three-day statewide demonstration in its demand to quash the 'attempt to murder case' against CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, the party's Jharkhand unit has called a blockade on June 26 in the state.
The party today warned that if the government did not listen to their repeated pleas, they would intensify their agitation.
CPI(ML) sources said their recently concluded three-day statewide demonstration did not trigger any response from the government adding the party now decided to stage a symbolic blockade on June 26.
Mr Bhattacharrya was arrested on March one, 2001, following a demonstration in front of the Assembly that turned violent in protest against police firing at Tapkara.
The police also framed a case charging the leader with attempt to murder.
Last month a delegation of the party had met Chief Minister Arjun Munda and submitted a memorandum demanding withdrawal of the case against Mr Bhattacharya.
