CM assures to review pay commission report

Aizawl, Jun 19 (UNI) Mizoram Chief Minsiter Zoramthanga today assured the federation of the state government employees that their representation would be considered.

The representatives of government employees assocation met the Chief Minister and submitted their findings over the Mizoram Pay Commission report.

The main grievance of the government employees was the pay recommendations.

The representatives said " The commission had recommended that DA allowance equal to 50 per cent of the minimum pay be merged to the existing pay which would be in force for ten years. It is the practice of government to give special compensatory allowances to offset inflation. The recommendations have made a fixed amount of this and to put this in force for ten years would mean great deprivation for government employees in the years to come".

The representatives also requested the Chief minister not to implement the MPC recommendations since the Centre is in the process of establishing of 6th pay commission. They have asked Mr Zoramthanga to wait for the commission's recommendations.
