Car, prescription drugs seized in Asom-Nagaland border
Diphu, June 19 (UNI) A Meghalaya minister's stolen car and sizeable quantity of prescription tablets were seized in separate incidents at Khatkhati police check gate under Bokajhan police station in Karbi Anglong district today.
In the first incident, 36,900 tablets of prescription drugs were recovered from one Liakat Ali at about 0430 hours.
The person was on his way from Guwahati to Dimapur on a night service bus.
In the other incident, a Maruti car with fake Asom number plate was seized at the same check gate.
On checking the papers of the car, the police found that the car had Meghalaya registration and belonged to a minister of the neighbouring state.
Two persons traveling in the car were also arrested.
