BJP's poll campaign to highlight Congress failures

Hyderabad, June 19 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh unit of BJP will highlight the failures of the ruling Congress government in its campaign for the coming Panchyat polls, party State President N Indrasena Reddy said today.

Talking to newspersons after releasing the posters for the election campaign here, Mr Reddy said senior leaders of the BJP will launch the election campaign at all district headquarters.

The campaign will highlight the State Government's failures in the area of rural development and transfer of powers to the local bodies.

Mr Reddy said the BJP was contesting in 402 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies and 3500 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies.

He said the party would support the independent candidates where the BJP has not fielded its candidates.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP National Secretary and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya alleged that the ruling Congress was misusing the power to win the elections in an 'un-democratic' way.

He charged the CPI(M) with giving away its ideology for power by joining hands with the Congress and the TDP.

Mr Dattatreya said the BJP would emerge as 'deciding power' centre in 10 districts after the elections.

He said his party's main aim was to defeat the Congress, Left parties, TDP and TRS.

He alleged that the TRS had mortgaged the ''Telangana issue'' to the Congress.
