3 held for looting former MLA

Jabalpur, June 19 (UNI) Police today claimed to have arrested three youth in connection with assaulting and looting former MLA Ramprasad Garg here last month.

Mr Garg, who was returning to his Katangi residence by car after a trip to Bhopal, was waylaid by three youth, who stole his mobile phone set, gold chain and Rs 7,000 in cash.

The assailants who had a record of criminal activities, also attacked him with a sword when he resisted the loot attempt, police said.

The arrested were identified as Billu Choudhary, Chandra Prakash Ahirwar and Nawalkishore Gupta are residents of Ranjhi in the city.
