Two arrested in car theft case

Kolhapur, June 18 (UNI) The local police here have arrested two persons in connection with car theft racket and seized two posh cars from them yesterday.

Police sources today said that the two arrested have been identified as Sachin Kadam(23) of Manpada road, Dombivali, Mumbai and Prakash Shewale(44) hailing from village Ondh of Karad tehsil in Satara district.

The main culprit in the car theft case, whose name revealed in the investigation as Rahil Vora hailing from Bangalore, was however obsconding, police sources said.

As per their modus operandi, Rahil used to hire the car on rent basis and later used to disappear with the car by deceiving the car driver, with the help of others, police sources said.

The two seized cars value worth about rs 14 lakh, police sources added.
