State government to streamline education system : Nitish
Patna, Jun 18 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today reiterated that his government was committed to streamling the education system to prevent exodus of students.
Addressing a function to mark the birth anniversary of former minister and freedom fighter Anugrah Narain Sinha, Mr Kumar said alround development could be brought only through qualitative change in the educational system.
He said the academic sessions in most universities of the state were running behind the schedule and stressed on the need to prepare another calendar and strictly adherence to it in the interest of the students.
'Although the state government does not want to interfere in the functioning of the universities, it would not hesitate to intervene to check the deterioration in the standards'' he pointed out.
Describing Mr Sinha as great freedom fighter of the country, Mr Kumar said he was also an efficient administrator who had contributed remarkably during his tenure as minister in the early years of post independence era.
