Bhopal, June 18 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi today asked the state government to explain how it would complete rehabilitation of the displaced of the Sardar Sarovar project by June 30.

Commenting upon Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's statement that the rehabilitation work would be complete by June 30, Ms Devi said she had visited about a dozen villages in Dhar district's Manavar tehsil, where even basic infrastructure has not been developed so far.

She wondered how the rehabilitation work will be completed in such a short period.

Ms Devi said the statement smacked of irresponsibility. The government must be sensitive towards the issue and properly rehabilitate the affected.

In a statement in Indore, newly appointed Congress spokesperson K K Mishra has alleged that the state government's statement regarding rehabilitation was far from truth.

He claimed that corruption was taking place in rehabilitation work. He had enough proof to prove his allegation and can present them before the government if it wants so.

He demanded that a committee be set up to look into the allegations.
